This note is concerned with gauge choices for the time-dependent GINZB
URG-LANDAU equations of superconductivity. The equations model the sta
te of a superconducting sample in a magnetic field near the critical t
emperature. Any two solutions related through a ''gauge transformation
'' describe the same state and are physically indistinguishable. This
''gauge invariance'' can be exploited for analytical and numerical pur
poses. A new gauge is proposed, which reduces the equations to a parti
cularly attractive form.
