O. Steinbach, ITERATIVE SOLVERS AND EFFICIENT PRECONDITIONERS FOR DISCRETIZED BOUNDARY INTEGRAL-EQUATIONS, Zeitschrift fur angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 76, 1996, pp. 685-686
The discretization of boundary integral equations resulting from mixed
boundary value problems leads in general to a system of linear equati
ons with a spectral condition number depending on the the discretizati
on size h. Therefore, the iterative solution by Krylov subspace method
s requires the use of an efficient preconditioner. We give a general t
echnique to construct such preconditioners arising from related bounda
ry integral formulations and we discuss different solution strategies
for mixed boundary value problems.
