M. Tachihante et al., OPTICAL STUDY OF THE TB3-]EU3+ ENERGY-TRANSFER IN CALCIUM FLUORAPATITE(), European journal of solid state and inorganic chemistry, 33(8), 1996, pp. 713-725
The Tb3+ --> Eu3+ energy transfer mechanism in Ca6Na2Tb1.75Y0.25-xEux(
PO4)(6)F-2 (0 < x less than or equal to 0.25) is reported and discusse
d. The fluorescence dynamics is governed by a rapid diffusion through
the donor ions. Both D-5(4) of Tb3+ and D-5(0) of Eu3+ are the excited
levels involved in the energy transfer. Moreover it is responsible fo
r the D-5(0) population for low Eu3+ concentrations and it shows a dou
ble characteristic, radiative and non-radiative.
