Abstract
A nearly monochromatic x-ray beam of 7 to 12 keV has been produced wit h an infrared free-electron laser (FEL). This is achieved when the int ense laser field generated and stored in the laser optical cavity is b ackscattered by the FEL relativistic electron beam.
