Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during 1989-91 to find out the effect of tillage practices on yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in a rice (Oryza sativa L.)-based cropping system on a sandy-loam soil. St and establishment, growth and yield were improved with an increase in intensity of tillage practices. Seed bed prepared with tractor drawn M .B. plough once supplemented by rotovator resulted in 131 and 47.9% hi gher pod yields over zero tillage and conventional system (ploughing t wice with country plough).
