Abstract
A 2-year field experiment conducted to study the effect of sowing date and irrigation on seed yield and quality of Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czernj. & Cosson] indicated that early sowing (17 and 27 O ctober) gave significantly higher seed, oil and protein yield and N up take by seed compared with late sowing (6 November), Seed, oil and pro tein yield, N content and N uptake were significantly higher under 2 i rrigation scheduled at pre-flowering and siliqua-development stages th an no irrigation. However, oil content was more in unirrigated, while reverse was true for protein content.
