Abstract
The hydration properties of SiO2-TiO2 waveguides are investigated in s itu using the grating coupler sensor (GCS) set-up. The strictly linear ly dependent effective refractive indices of guided TE(0) and TM(0) li ght modes are discussed as an implication of the resonance phenomenon at thin dielectic film gratings.
