The synthesis and structural characterization of the sodium amide salt
Na[Na{N(SiMe(3))(2)AlMe(3)}(2)] are described. The structure is compo
sed of an infinite array of bis(amido)sodate [Na{N(SiMe(3))(2)AlMe(3)}
(2)](-) anions and Na+ cations, the latter being ''solvated'' by Na+--
-H3C- interactions alone.
