Abstract
In the reaction between dichlorodimethylsilane and sodium potassium bi smuthide, which was prepared from the elements in dimethoxyethane, the previously unknown cage Bi-2(SiMe(2))(5) is formed. It was isolated b y crystallization from heptane, and its molecular structure was confir med by X-ray analysis.
