Abstract
The effect of monitoring on frequency and duration of intrusions, and on reported symptomatology in patients with a diagnosis of post-trauma tic stress disorder (PTSD) was investigated. Six patients were asked t o monitor their intrusions over a period of two months. The patients w ere reassessed after completing the monitoring and followed up after t hree months. Four patients recovered and no longer met criteria for PT SD, one patient was still experiencing some symptoms, and one still me t criteria for a diagnosis of PTSD.
