M. Reynolds et N. Tarrier, MONITORING OF INTRUSIONS IN POSTTRAUMATIC-STRESS-DISORDER - A REPORT OF SINGLE-CASE STUDIES, British Journal of Medical Psychology, 69, 1996, pp. 371-379
The effect of monitoring on frequency and duration of intrusions, and
on reported symptomatology in patients with a diagnosis of post-trauma
tic stress disorder (PTSD) was investigated. Six patients were asked t
o monitor their intrusions over a period of two months. The patients w
ere reassessed after completing the monitoring and followed up after t
hree months. Four patients recovered and no longer met criteria for PT
SD, one patient was still experiencing some symptoms, and one still me
t criteria for a diagnosis of PTSD.
