Abstract
This note presents flow visualization results to show the response of wake flows behind a cylinder to the feedback suppression and excitatio n. The experiments were conducted in a water channel and the feedback perturbations were introduced into the wake by oscillating the cylinde r transverse to the oncoming flow. The visualization photographs direc tly illustrated the wake flows under the feedback suppression and exci tation at Reynolds numbers up to 25% above the natural onset Reynolds number for vortex shedding.
