Abstract
X-ray emission spectra of M and Si atoms in RM(2)Si(2) (R = Sc, Y; M = Fe, Co, Ni, Cu) compounds have been investigated and density of total and partial electron states in these phases have been calculated. 3s and 3p states of Si are hybridized with the 4p states of M atoms. The maximum of d states of M atoms is localized near the Fermi level, The occupancy of the d states of the M atoms has a dominant influence on t he degree of their hybridization. In RCu(2)Si(2) (R = Sc, Y, Ce) compo unds p states of Si are partially ejected from the energy region of lo calized d states of Cu.
