Abstract
Multiple schwannomas may occur as visible tumors or may occur as tumor s in situ. The tumors in situ may be missed when the visible tumors ar e excised. In time, the schwannomas in situ grow and appear to be recu rrent, while in fact, they are multicentric. The prognosis on multicen tric schwannomas thus remains guarded.
