Abstract
The synthesis of novel triazeno-group containing photopolymers is desc ribed including their characterization by spectroscopic methods, diffe rential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetric analysis. Triazene polymers synthesized by a polycondensation reaction between a bis-dia zonium salt and a bifunctional secondary amine are well soluble in usu al organic solvents. Transparent, light yellow films of these photopol ymers may be produced by simple spin-coating and solution-casting tech niques. The effect of polymer structural elements on the photolytic de composition is studied. Depending on the structure of the polymer, the rmolysis proceeds either via a one-step or two-step mechanism.
