Taking account of the effect of the degree of grain alignment on the c
oercivity, the angular dependence of the coercivity for sintered NdFeB
magnets is discussed in terms of various coercivity mechanisms. The c
omparison between various theoretical results and experiments indicate
s that the misalignment of the gains makes coercivity of the magnets i
ncrease rather than decrease and the starting field theory of coercivi
ty is in better agreement with experiments than either the nucleation
or pinning mechanisms.
