A laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate self-control feat
ures of the Type A behavior pattern. The results indicated that the Ty
pe A subjects, high-on the speed/impatient factor, had more difficulty
in waiting for the larger delayed reward than non-Type As and chose t
he small reward available immediately. The results are discussed in te
rms of a conceptualization of Type As' poor self-control skills. Copyr
