The study of pure and Nd3+-doped K3Li2-xNb5-xO15+2x single crystal fib
res with x = 0.24 by the LHPG technique is reported. The wavelength fo
r non-critical second harmonic generation phase matching was found to
be near 932 nm. Low-temperature spectroscopy reveals that the Nd3+ ion
s are located in the A2 sites of the tungsten-bronze structure in diff
erent environments. The stimulated emission cross section near 1060 nm
of the F-4(3/2) --> I-4(11/2) channel and its branching ratio are det
ermined with the help of the Judd-Ofelt analysis.
