Basing on analytical treatment of satellite and ship data it was detec
ted that, in winter-spring period of 1991-1992, East Korea Current rep
resented a series of vortex formations. It was demonstrated that in Ap
ril 1992 the balance of water discharge through cross sections of Kore
a Strait and that of anticyclonic vortex were negative. It was highlig
hted that in Korea Strait in the spring seasons of aforementioned year
s the maximum values of components of water balance (runoff and influx
) were observed in 1992.
