The interpersonal psychotherapy is a short psychotherapy well structur
ed and containing three stages; In a first stage, it consists to relie
d the addictive pathology to the interpersonal functioning disruption.
In a second stage, four interpersonal problem areas-transition, inter
personal disputes and deficits, grief-are investigated. In a third sta
ge, synthesis and assessment of the progresses are made to improve the
interpersonal functioning and to obtain the detoxification. The purpo
se of this work is to improve by a structural psychotherapy the psychi
atrist-patient relationship. Like that better therapeutic alliance is
obtained. Eleven opioid hospitalised addicts participated to the study
; five followed classical detoxification, six are identicaly treated p
lus interpersonal psychotherapy. Interviews at the beginning and the e
nd are assessed using discours data analysis by the ALCESTE methodolog
y. First interview is strickly oriented on addiction and facts. Progre
ssivly cognitive changes appear through interviews depending on durati
on of hospitalisation. In spite of patients small number; this prelimi
nary works suggests that structured psychotherapy could be used during
opioid detoxification to obtain better participation of these patient
s.
