Vv. Berdyugin et al., DETERMINATION OF NONSYMMETRIC DIMETHYL HYDRAZINE IN SOLUTIONS BY THE METHOD OF RESONANCE RAMAN-SCATTERING, Instruments and experimental techniques, 39(4), 1996, pp. 601-603
A method based on the resonance Raman scattering is proposed for deter
mination of traces of nonsymmetric dimethyl hydrazine (NDMH) in soluti
ons. The method is especially sensitive to compounds possessing intens
e absorption bands in the electronic spectra and low quantum yield of
fluorescence. The Raman transitions were excited in the absorption ban
d of the product of photocolorimetric reaction of NDMH with para-nitro
benzaldehyde (PNBA), which served as an indicator reagent. For excitat
ion at a wavelength of 457.9 nm, the lower detection limit of NDMH in
solution is about 0.02 mg/l.
