Abstract
In connection with Tsallis' generalized statistical mechanics, we disc uss the associated quantal distribution functions and show, by recours e to elementary considerations, that nonextensivity entails apparent v iolations to the Pauli principle. The typical zero temperature sharp F ermi surface is seen to be a limiting case in which the nonextensivity parameter achieves that value for which the Boltzmann-Gibbs statistic s is recovered.
