In studying ultrafast nonlinear optical response of semiconductor syst
em around exciton resonance, coherent propagation effect plays a very
important role In this work, nonlinear coherent propagation of femtose
cond optical pulses in semiconductors is studied by time resolved spec
troscopy For ZnP2 sample, measurements at intensities around ImJ/cm(2)
lead to slower decay and a clear reduction of the coherent signal amp
litude. The experimental result is compared with the numerical calcula
tion of the Maxwell Bloch equations.
