Abstract
We propose a new scheme of experiments for detecting the invisible axi on, which is required by the standard theory of elementary particle. I n the experiment, photons from a laser are converted to axions in a ma gnetic field, and photons reproduced from these axions in another magn etic field are to be detected. By introducing optical resonators in bo th conversion processes, the signal photons are enhanced by a factor o f F1F2, where F-i (similar to 10(4)) is the finesse of the i-th resona tor, A preliminary experiment is described.
