Abstract
Global competition emphasizes the benefits of a more coordinated produ ction planning among the subsidiaries of a multinational company (MNC) . In this paper, a model for the production assignment of the global d emand to the MNC plants is proposed. The solution search, based on tot al cost optimization, is pursued by genetic algorithms. A simple examp le is provided to show the model implementation.
