Abstract
The deviation of primordial helium production due to a variation in th e difference between the rest masses of the nucleons is presented. An upper bound delta(M(n) - M(p)) less than or similar to 0.129 MeV, betw een the present and nucleosynthesis epochs is found. This bound is use d to analyze Wesson's theory of gravitation; as a result, it is ruled out by observation.
