Abstract
We consider the spontaneous emission from a three-level atom in which the two upper levels are driven by a quantized radiation field and the intermediate level decays to the lower level via spontaneous emission . It is shown that the spontaneous emission spectrum has the same char acteristics as the photon statistics of the driving field. The propose d scheme can also be used to find the full state vector of the field f or pure stares.
