Zn-Mn alloys were electrodeposited from acidic baths and their magneti
zation behaviour was studied. The influence of bath compositions, depo
sition current density (CD), and additives were investigated. Magnetic
properties of the alloys are very sensitive to Zn++/Mn++ ratio in the
bath. Variations in CD effect interesting changes on the magnetic mom
ents of the co-deposits. The magnetic character of the alloys can be a
ltered with change in mode of complexation. Pronounced ferromagnetism
is observed in Zn-Mn-Ni and Zn-Mn-Fe alloys.
