Abstract
The geometrically based fundamental-measure free-energy density functi onal for hard spheres is briefly reviewed. The corresponding bridge fu nctional can be successfully applied for a large variety of quite disp arate systems, including classical plasmas. The application of the Gau ss-Bonnet theorem enables one to generalize the theory to molecular fl uids.
