Abstract
The authors propose an original method for addressing the ATM cells (v ia AAL-5) that allows the detection and localisation of lost cells. Th is method is particularly suited to the train transport MPEG-2 packet structure, but it may be generalised for other applications. Eliminati on of the packing delay and propagation errors, addition in to 100% ma pping efficiency, which apply for every size of PDU, are the essential advantages of this method.
