D. Mathoorasing et al., WIDE-BAND OPTOELECTRONIC MIXER FOR RADIO OVER FIBER APPLICATIONS AT 28 38/60GHZ/, Electronics Letters, 32(20), 1996, pp. 1900-1902
The authors propose a high speed optoelectronic millimetre-wave mixer,
realised From the hybridisation of a wideband amplifier and a fast DF
B laser that operates in the 20-60GHz range. This source relies on a l
ocal oscillator (LO) port, using < 10dBm of electrical modulation powe
r at a modulation frequency in thr 5-10GHz range. These features are c
ompatible with a commercially available RF oscillator. With a 32GHz/0.
3A/W photodiode, the power levels obtained at 28 and 38GHz are -23 and
-33dBm respectively. Assuming a flatband photodiode, > -40dBm of elec
trical power is expected at 60GHz.
