Abstract
Recently 1625/1650nm optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs) have b ecome commercially available. One application of these OTDRs is the mo nitoring of fibres with live traffic at 1550nm. The authors present ex perimental results which show that stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) g ives rise to a depletion of the signal.
