Abstract
We report a structural study on several PuGa alloys in the delta phase (f.c.c. structure) by the use of two complementary techniques: X-ray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results obtained sh ow that gallium atoms are in substitution in the plutonium f.c.c. latt ice. Moreover, a local collapse of the lattice around gallium atoms is revealed.
