Abstract
Single crystals of the compound Al3Pt5 have been prepared from the ele ments at 1270 degrees C in a high temperature inductive oven. The atom ic arrangement corresponds to that of the Ge3Rh5 types. Differences be tween the atomic positions in compounds and their consequences are dis cussed.
