Abstract
Three new taxane and related diterpenoids, taxuspines U, V, and W (1 s imilar to 3), have been isolated from stems of the Japanese yew Taxus cuspidata Sieb. et Zucc. and the structures elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. Taxuspine U (1) is a very rare bicyclic taxane re lated diterpenoid from yew trees of genus Taxus, while taxuspine W (3) is a rare taxoid having a 2(3-->20)-abeotaxane skeleton.
