Oligonucleotides containing 2'-deoxyisoguanosine (iG(d)) or 7-deaza-2'
-deoxyiso-guanosine (c(7)iG(d)) were synthesized using the phosphonate
s or phosphoramidites 1-6. Parallel-stranded duplexes are formed when
iG(d) or c(7)1G(d) base pairs with dC. The oligonucleotide 5'd(T-4-iG(
4)-T-4) forms an aggregate with a defined structure.
