Abstract
Some omega-substituted derivatives of ono)alkylidene-beta-D-threo-pent ofuranosyl]thymine have been prepared. A key step in the synthesis is the reaction of chlorodiethylphosphite with cyclic 3',5'-O-(1-alkoxy)a lkylidene nucleoside orthoesters bearing a substituent in the omega-po sition of the alkylidene moiety.
