Abstract
Self-association of a series of newly synthesized dinucleotide mRNA ca p-analogues has been investigated in aqueous buffers by means of H-1 N MR and fluorescence, and compared with that for a regular cap, 7-methy lguanosine(5')ppp(5')guanosine (m(7)GpppG). The previously investigate d inter-molecular association between the tripeptide, Trp-Leu-Glu, and cap analogues (Biochim. Biophys. Acta 1293, 97 (1996)) has been exten ded to include m(7)GpppC and m(7)Gpppm(7)G. More detailed insight into the stacking interactions was attempted by means of molecular dynamic s simulations.
