Abstract
Statistical correlations of nuclear many-body states are explored in t he Od1s shell model as a function of the strength of residual interact ions. Model independent predictions for correlation functions and dist ributions, developed from parametric random-matrix theory, are found t o describe the observed nuclear behavior for excited states. In partic ular, we find that correlations generally decrease as a power law.
