Bell Greve was one of the most prominent figures in rehabilitation fro
m the 1930s to the 1950s. Greve was not only a key figure in the Natio
nal Rehabilitation Association, which still presents an annual award i
n her name, but in rehabilitation efforts around the globe. It is unli
kely that the organization Rehabilitation International would exist to
day without her hard work. Yet Bell Greve has been largely forgotten.
This article reviews the life of this remarkable pioneer.
