Abstract
Physico-chemical studies have been performed in order to determine aci
do-basicity and lipophilicity for halogen-substituted 2-benzamido-5-ni
tro thiazoles. Our first results were interpreted with the classical a
ssumption that these compounds behave as weak basis in aqueous medium.
However, our recent data give evidence of an astonishing weak acid ch
aracter, so we have to revise our previous interpretations.
