Abstract
Spatial ability consists of five factors. To get detailed information about sex differences in spatial ability the subjects must be differen tiated according to age and the specific factor of spatial ability. It turned out that up to the age of puberty there are hardly any differe nces between the sexes. Later you will meet with significant distincti ons in the factors ''mental rotation'' and ''spatial orientation''. Co ncerning the three other factors - and mainly in the 2-dimensional sph ere and if there is no visual image to be mentally dealt with - no or far less important differences will be found.
