P. Steerneman et B. Huskens, THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SOCIAL COGNITION TRA INING FOR AUTISTIC-CHILDREN, PSYCHOLOGIE IN ERZIEHUNG UND UNTERRICHT, 43(4), 1996, pp. 291-301
The authors describe the development of social cognition of autistic c
hildren. Subsequently an account is given of a specific social cogniti
on training, including the results of two pilot-studies on the effects
of the training. The treatment particularly aims at the training of '
'Theory-of-mind'' and indications have been found that an improvement
in social behavior is caused by an improvement of social cognitive per
formance. Besides, suggestions are made for continued research into th
e effects of the social cognition training.
