Proton NMR experiment has been performed in CuCl2(gamma-picoline)(2) u
p to 9 T for the study of S = 1/2 quantum spin-gap in the one-dimensio
nal antiferromagnet (1-D AF) with bond alternation. It is shown that t
he proton NMR spectrum as well as the proton spin-lattice relaxation i
s characterized by the singlet-ground-state. Furthermore, NMR results
suggest the existence of the paramagnetic spin around the end of the f
inite chain.
