The electrical resistivity (rho) in the temperature range from 20mK up
to 1000K and the low temperature specific heat of Y3Ni have been stud
ied. Neither a magnetic order nor a superconducting transition have be
en found. An enhanced spin fluctuation contributuion to the temperatur
e dependence of the resistivity is concluded from the low temperature
T-2 behaviour and the pronounced negative curvature at elevated temper
atures in rho vs. T. However, the large A/gamma(2)-value Y3Ni (5.6x10(
-5) is beyond the spin fluctuation regime in the Kadowaki - Woods plot
) does not enable us to classify this compound as a typical spin fluct
uation system.
