Low temperature hysteresis magnetic properties of Dy(Fe,M)(2) (M=Al, S
i, Ga) and Sm(Co,Ni)(5) have been studied. The staircase character of
magnetization and demagnetization curves observed al T < 10 K has been
shown to be due to a sharp increase in the sample temperature under t
he heat released at irreversible domain walls motion. Essential condit
ions for observation of the low temperature magnetization jumps have b
een formulated for the samples possessing the usual temperature depend
ences of both coercive force and heat capacity.
