The phenomenological two-fluid model involving localized and itinerant
electrons has been successful in explaining zero-field thermodynamic
measurements in disordered metal-insulator systems such as Si:P. We ha
ve extended this model to include the effects of a magnetic field B, a
nd have used the modified equations to account for recent specific hea
t and susceptibility measurements made as a function of B. Predictions
of the Wilson ratio behaviour at low temperatures in finite fields re
main to be tested.
