Among REBe(13) intermetallic compounds, YbBe13 is anomalous, with evid
ence for mixed-valence and heavy-fermion behaviour. The comparatively
low specific resistivity and, therefore, the large electronic mean fre
e path enables point-contact spectroscopy in the Sharvin regime. In th
e d(2)V/dI(2) characteristics of point-contacts between YbBe13 and nor
mal metals, measured at temperatures between 1.6 and 30K, we find stru
ctures due to crystal-field scattering and scattering at spin-fluctuat
ions.
