Abstract
The influence of a low impedance electromagnetic environment on Coulom b blockade of tunneling can be explained and qualitatively estimated t hrough a simplified horizon picture, where the environment is reduced to a voltage dependent capacitance. We have studied the offset voltage , V-off, for three different circuit layouts. The measurements are wel l explained by the horizon picture.
