Abstract
The influence of the various carbohydrate additives on growth and poly saccharide production by the Cryptococcus luteolus strain 228 was inve stigated. It was shown that the carbohydrate additives had not influen ced essentially on the polysaccharide production by the C. luteolus. S ome increase of cell biomass (on 10-22 %) and polysaccharide productio n are marked at adding to medium mannitol, sorbitol and maltose at the ratio with glucose 10:40 Gamma/pi, which can be recommended to grow a n inoculum.
