Abstract
In order to produce high quality UPt3, a crystal growth facility has b een constructed which includes an ultra high vacuum (UHV) electron bea m zone refiner and an UHV electron beam annealing furnace. We have pro duced high quality single crystals having rocking curve widths near th e theoretical minimum value. The annealed crystals clearly have two su perconducting transitions as observed by specific heat measurements. O ur crystals have been characterized by x-ray rocking curve, residual r esistivity ratio (RRR) and specific heat measurements. These character ization results will be presented.
